Eligibility string for public holiday class on current day
This string is used to determine the validity of rules. In this field you can specify
that a rule is only valid for days with certain public holiday classes, or for days
which are not public holidays (enter B).
Use
If all conditions set in the admissibility string are fulfilled, the rule with the
lowest sequential number is taken. It determines the result of the rule
application.
Procedure
You can use the string to specify for which public holiday classes a rule should
apply.
Flag the appropriate public holiday class with X.
Examples
1. A rule should only apply on days which are not public holidays. To effect this,
enter X under B . Leave the other entries blank.
2. A rule should only apply on public holidays which do not have public holiday
class 2. To effect this, enter X under each entry with the exception of B and 2.
Leave these blank.
Eligibility string for next day's holiday class
This string serves to set the validity of rules. You can define a rule for days
which are followed by a public holiday, and for days which are not followed by a
public holiday (entry B).
Use
If all conditions set in the admissibility string are fulfilled, the rule with the
lowest sequential number is taken. It determines the result of the rule
application.
Procedure
You can use the string to specify which public holiday class must be assigned to
the subsequent day for a rule to apply.
Flag the appropriate public holiday class with X.
Examples
1. A rule is only to apply to days which are not followed by a public holiday. Enter a X under the entry B . Leave the other entries blank.
2. A rule is to apply only to days followed by a public holiday which has a public holiday class other than 2. Enter a X under each entry, with
the exception of B and 2 which you should leave blank.
Eligibility string for weekdays
The string is used to determine the validity of rules. This particular string shows the days of a week. You can specify a rule for one or more
weekdays here.
1 corresponds to Monday, and 7 to Sunday.
Use
If all conditions set in the admissibility string are fulfilled, the rule with the lowest sequential number is used. It determines the result of the
rule application.
Procedure
You can use the string to specify the weekdays on which a specific rule should be processed.
Flag the relevant weekdays with an X.
Examples
1. You want a rule to apply on Fridays only. Enter an X under 5. Do not make any further entries.
2. You want a rule to apply only from Monday through Friday. Enter an X under each weekday apart from 6 and 7. Leave them blank.
Daily Work Schedule Variant
The daily work schedule variant allows you to define several different versions of the same daily work schedule.
You can use variants to define shorter working hours on Fridays or on days preceding public holidays, for example, or to indicate that absence
hours should be calculated according to the average daily working time.
Daily Work Schedule
Employee-oriented description of the duration and position of working time on a particular, unspecified workday.

Planned working hours
Use
Planned working hours define the duration of an employee's working time. This includes paid breaks.
The system calculates planned working hours according to the working time model and values in other fields included in this view.
1. Daily work schedules for flextime:
The planned working hours specify the number of hours the employee is expected to work on average. This value is determined from the
values in the Normal working time field plus paid breaks.
2. Other daily work schedules:
For all other daily work schedules, planned working hours are determined from the values in the Planned working time field plus paid breaks.
Procedure
Define and confirm the working times and breaks that you require. The system calculates the planned working hours, and writes them to
this field.
Daily work schedule selection rule
Enter which rules should be carried out to choose variants of a daily work schedule.
You enter the daily work schedule selection rule for the standard variant of a daily work schedule. It is then evaluated to determine the
variant currently in use in the daily work schedule.
You can enter two specifications for each rule:
1. The specification "01" shows which variant should be used to determine the valid daily working schedule for the relevant day.
See also: Define rules for variants
2. The specification "02" shows which variant should be used for absences and attendances.
See also: Determine daily work schedule variants for absence and Set daily work schedule variant for attendance.
Use
In this field you enter the rule number which was defined in the view Rules to determine variant for monthly work schedule generation. The
view specifies which variant of a daily work schedule should apply on a Friday or on a day which precedes a public holiday, for example.
Examples
Daily work schedule selection rule 01
- Standard variant BLANK
- Variant A for work on Fridays and on public holidays of class 2
Daily work schedule selection rule 02
- Standard variant BLANK
- Variant A for work on Fridays
- Variant B for work on public holidays of public holiday class 2
- Variant C for work on days preceding public holidays of class 4
Procedure
If you want to create several variants of a daily work schedule, you must enter a rule number here.
You can also leave the field blank; no variant is determined for the daily work schedule in this case.
Dependencies
If the variant determined by the rules does not exist, the standard variant is used.
Start of planned working time
The planned working time specifies when the employee should start and finish work.
Daily work schedules for flextime are an exception. In this case, the planned working time is the interval within which the employee can
clock in and out (recording of actual times).
Working hours which are recorded during this interval are credited to a flextime account. The system automatically interprets excess
planned working time as overtime.
Normal working time
The normal working time is only relevant for daily work schedules for flextime.
If a normal working time is specified, the daily work schedule can be assigned to employees who work flextime.
The system refers to the normal working time for the following calculations:
1. To determine missing clock-in/-out entries in time evaluation: if clock-in/-out entries are missing because the employee has been absent,
for example, the system uses the normal working time to calculate the absence hours.
2. To determine planned working hours: the planned working hours are calculated according to the length of the normal working time and
the paid breaks.
